Tis the Season for giving...
In the mood to give? We welcome your consideration of the following ideas.
Donate or sponsor*
"Adopt" a book of our choice for a special occasion, or in memory of someone, and we will place a memorial book plate in the selection
Donate for young adult books for the Holtville Branch ($20 or more would be great)
Donate money or items to assist with crafts and snacks for the story hours planned in Heber (any amount)
Give $500 to cover the cost of special English as a second language software and materials for our patrons who are improving their English
$500 for a Wii or comparable and some games for the young adults in Calipatria
Give a new Nook, Kindle or other e-reader for use at a branch
Sponsor a family literacy "night" at any branch, with giveaway books, for $300.
Of yourself (County volunteer form needed)
Volunteer to share a skill, craft or knowledge with patrons. We are looking for computer program tutors and literacy volunteers who will commit to volunteering for six months on a once a week basis.
Come help us with our programs for children.
Items (gently used) We reserve the right to use the items in any way we deem appropriate.
Books, paperbacks, or audiobooks on CD are welcomed. Children's books are particularly useful.
Cassette or CD players that are operative
Game stations and games that are appropriate for people under 17
Magazines (ask staff) or subscriptions to magazines appropriate for the public
